Water playgrounds and city fountains are shut down for the winter

The water playgrounds and drinking fountains in the city area are shut down and prepared for the cold months.
The fountains and playgrounds will be available again from April 2026.
Roman Fort House - winter break
October, 6 2025
The Roman Fort House Bürgel in Monheim am Rhein will be taking its annual winter break from November 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026.
The museum will be closed during this time.
Piwipper Böötchen – the ferry takes a winter break
September 30, 2025
The last ferry trips for this year will take place on October 12, 2025. Piwipp will resume ferry service in spring 2026.

Eel Fishing Museum temporarily closed

Due to construction work, the Eel Fishing Museum is closed until further notice.
The parking lot at the Eel Fishing Museum is also currently unavailable for use.
Construction site in the parking lot at the Rheinbogen Landscape Park
June 20, 2025
From June 16, construction work will be taking place in the Rheinbogen Landscape Park parking lot. The site will be completely modernized. The parking lot will be accessible as far as possible via a temporary access road for the duration of the work and will largely be usable for parking.
Alternative parking is available in the parking lot on Kapellenstrasse, next to the jetty. Parking is also available free of charge for up to three hours in Monheim Mitte (Rathauscenter and Monheimer Tor).
